Perlen Packaging produces PVC mono films and specially coated PVdC barrier and high-barrier films for the pharmaceutical industry. Its processes, plants, products and environment are all geared entirely to the needs of this industry.
An enterprise manufacturing a huge quantity of high-quality packaging film can achieve significant cost savings by optimizing the trim. Doing so is made possible by T.CON’s sap-based add-on, TRIM SUITE. By introducing the new tool, Perlen Packaging took an important step towards process integration and optimization.
Perlen Packaging is currently benefiting from optimized cutting plans created by TRIM SUITE at ten of its plants in five production locations. The cutting plans are created after production scheduling and block planning, before the production order is approved. The automatically created plans calculate an optimized trim for customer orders, with the result that the productive width of the machinery producing the film is much better utilized than previously. The company is saving material costs and has reduced its technical waste.
Users love TRIM SUITE, with its powerful functionality and user-friendliness. Another advantage is that it integrates seamlessly into SAP S/4HANA and T.CON’s MES CAT.
“The core objectives of our growth-oriented corporate strategy include continuous improvements of our business processes, optimum capacity utilization in our plants, and a steady reduction in costs”, explains René Kuhn, Head of IT at Perlen Packaging. TRIM SUITE is an important component of this strategy.
